Blast machine operators should be capable, intelligent persons, who take pride in their work and machinery. They should be able to detect problems when cleaning quality falls off or time for cleaning is longer then usual.
The operator is the first line of defence in any maintenance programme.

Spare Parts Inventory
A well-planned programme means little unless adequate spare parts are available when needed. The spare parts stock control can be very involved or entail merely a regular check on parts available to determine re-ordering dates. The important point is to maintain a stock adequate to take care of regular replacements.
