Glass Bead Abrasive
Glass bead is used in all types of compressed air
blast equipment, using a dry or wet process. Surface treatment with
glass bead can be used as a finishing process or as a supplement
treatment. For example, initial treatment utilising aluminium oxide
followed by glass bead greatly improves the surface finish, leaving a
satin lustre. Glass bead is a relatively gentle surface treatment which
makes it ideal for use on delicate and precision parts as it won’t
distort dimensions and results in a smooth polished surface.
